The above sign is being displayed all over the old Bus Station. It is
advising people that the Old Bus Station and Air-Con Bus Station will
STOP operating in mid August and ALL Buses will Depart and Arrive at the
NEW Bus Station (3).

If anyone can offer an accurate translation, please feel free to post it here.

Sorry, I have no further information. I saw the signs while I was
at the Old Bus Station on Monday and got a "rough" translation.

The sign basically says that bus stations 1 and 2 will be amalgamated and relocated to a new site, bus station 3.

The only problem I see is that the word that precedes "middle of August"
translates directly as "about". Thai time and "about" could mean anything.LOL

The next time I send a box to KK I will ask the bus driver if he has any details.

There was a mob there yesterday to protest the move. All the
ancilliary businesses are up in arms but they were told about this long
ago. I have info that the new mall opposite will stretch over and you
can walk from one mall to the other. What we need is a bus service fom
the town to the new bus terminal because the taxis are having a field
day at the moment charging 100 baht up.

KHON KAEN- Yesterday 600 protesters, organized by the group, “Rak Pattana Baw Kaw Saw 1,”
gathered at the Khon Kaen Provincial Hall to voice their concern over
the government’s decision to close Khon Kaen’s original bus terminal and
consolidate all bus transportation in the city’s new bus terminal, 7km
from the city center.

I sent a box of goodies to ChumPhae, via KK, this morning. I asked the guy on the bus about the bus station situation.

He looked at me and laughed asking what I know.!!!!!!

He said that today is still "old bus station. The relocation could be completed this week.

I am sending a box tomorrow to NongBuaLampu, via KK, so I will ask again.

I might be the only one thinking this, but getting the larger
buses out of the town centre can only be good. Along with the Thai
driving 'skills' this reduces potential hazards & issues. To get
from old bus stations 100 Baht, not the end of the world. I do not use
the buses to often these days but a lot more convenient now in my
opinion.
